Say what you will about it, but Windows Mobile is one of the world’s most popular and powerful mobile platforms. Microsoft appears poised to continue their tradition of excellence with a brand new Windows Mobile interface. Windows Mobile 6.1, which will reportedly be announced next February, will sport a completely re-hashed interface, sporting a carousel-like menu system that should provide easy and convenient one-click access to a plethora of commonly used functions. The new interface will be similar to, but not identical to, the current Vodafone Palm 500v interface. According to WMExperts, the new interface is based on the following bit of marketing hogwash: “The idea is that instead of thinking in terms of “applications,” you can think in terms of “what do I want to do today?” Okay. Other functional improvements include more reliable Wi-Fi communication, better Exchange integration, and enhanced Bluetooth support. Sound good? Yeah, we think so too.
