We already know that this week is going to be packed with N-Gage news as Tuesday marks the official preview of Nokia’s new incarnation of N-Gage. With a gaming platform that runs on top of the Symbian OS replacing the hardware devices of old, N-Gage will be accessible to a much wider audience this time around. Nokia is making things interesting right out of the box with Monday’s announcement of a new game titled Dirk Spanner and the Fallen Idol. The game itself sounds fairly cool; a story-driven classic detective scenario is the premise. The real spark, however, lies in the gaming controls. Dirk Spanner will employ camera-based navigation that will allow players to explore the game’s virtual scenes by physically moving their handset in different directions. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this type of technology, but it remains a unique and intuitive start to an exiting week of N-Gage announcements.
