It looks like we’re going to learn much more about the sequel to last year’s most hyped Android Wear watch very shortly. Droid Life flags a new entry at the official Bluetooth SIG website for a “Motorola Android device” that happens to be equipped with Bluetooth 4.1. It’s very likely that this new device is the next-generation Moto 360 since its listing number of BTMW03 is very close to the original Moto 360’s listing number of BTMW01.

FROM EARLIER: New rumor reveals one way the 2015 Moto X may be a big upgrade over last year’s model

Droid Life also notes that when the original Moto 360 showed up as a Bluetooth SIG listing, the device was made available to buy just one week later, so that means the next-gen Moto 360 is likely ready to go on sale. Additionally, we know that Google I/O 2015 will kick off in just over two weeks starting on May 28th, which makes it a likely place for Motorola to unveil its second-generation smartwatch.

Last year’s Moto 360 was definitely a standout Android Wear watch, although so far Android Wear sales have been easily dwarfed by sales of the first-generation Apple Watch. Common complaints about the Moto 360 included poor battery life, a surprisingly thick frame and the fact that the watch’s display has an empty black space at the bottom. We’ll be interested to see how Motorola addresses these complaints with the second-gen Moto 360.
