As of today, Microsoft is now offering 3D renderings of select cities and landmarks via its Live Search Maps site. It works directly through your browser, and unlike Google Earth, uses photographs as the basis for the 3D, not polygons. In addition to the 3D maps, Microsoft is also working on a real-time traffic and construction interface, similar to those found on newer 3rd party GPS units, with color coding and alerts. Like anything new, these new trinkets are only available in select cities at present, with more cities to be released in the (hopefully) near future.
