LG may be working on a new device that can be worn by the user, although it won’t be an Internet-connected smart wearable gadget. Instead, LG may launch a colorful stylus that could be used with smartphones and tablets, and worn on the wrist when not needed. The device, made “for LG Mobile,” looks very much like an old slap bracelet from the 90’s, although it has a stylus tip at one end. @evleaks has obtained an image showing the accessory, but the device does not have a commercial name and it’s not known when it will actually be launched.

Interestingly, LG is not the only company considering such a design for new devices. An Apple patent application discovered in early 2013 describes a smart wearable device that would be as flexible as a slap bracelet. “The wearable accessory device includes a flexible display coupled to a bi-stable spring,” Apple writes in the patent abstract. “Coupling the display to the bi-stable spring allows the accessory device to be easily worn in a number of convenient locations.”

LG’s wearable stylus accessory, and Apple’s slap bracelet-like iWatch concept are shown in images following below.
