Let’s face it — the Galaxy S6 isn’t going to have much competition from the Android market when it launches later this week. It’s not that there aren’t other great phones out there, perhaps most notable the HTC One M9 and the latest generation of the Moto X, but it’s hard to imagine either of those phones knocking Samsung off of its perch.
On the other hand, the more we see of the LG G4, the more convinced we are that it could put a dent in S6 sales.
DON’T MISS: This is the LG G4 feature that will blow the Galaxy S6 out of the water
On Monday, LG unveiled UX 4.0, the interface that will be featured on the LG G4 when it launches. It’s simple, intuitive and more intelligent than its predecessors, with several new features focusing on camera and imaging capabilities to boot.
The first feature LG discusses on its blog is called Quick Shot. Quick Shot lets users take spur-of-the-moment photos without even turning on the display. Just click the volume down button twice, and the camera will snap a picture of the scene immediately.
LG is also adding something called a Smart Board to UX 4.0. The Smart Board collects information from several different apps and displays them all as widgets on the home screen which you can scroll through.
Overall, Android just looks better on the G4 than it has in the past. We’re looking forward to seeing UX 4.0 on the G4 later this month.
