iPhone speakers are a lot like the amplifiers shown off by Nigel Tufnel in This is Spinal Tap: They’re always better when they go one notch louder. And according to tests conducted with decibel meters by iClarified, the iPhone 5’s speakers are the loudest yet, clocking in at 100.3 dBA, or more than 2 dBA greater than the speakers on the iPhone 4S. iClarified said it decided to conduct tests on all iPhone models after it noticed that the “iPhone 5 speaker feels a bit louder than that of the iPhone 4S.” A full video of iClarified’s test is posted below.
