The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are in town and they sport an even better build quality, according to Apple. There’s bendgate-proof 7000 Series aluminum on the back and sides and the “strongest glass on any smartphone” on the front.
But does that mean the new iPhone models will better withstand accidental drops than their predecessors? The following video will tell you all about what happens when such unfortunate events occur.

YouTube channel PhoneBuff bought both devices and put them through three similar drops. The phones survived back and side drops with almost perfect results, meaning that even without a protective case, drops against hard surfaces like concrete will not be able to damage the metal shell aside from scratches and scuffs, if any.
On the other hand, the display will break if the device falls flat on the screen. Neither the iPhone 6s nor the iPhone 6s Plus can walk away damage-free from a drop dead on the face. The screens will still work after the drops, but the glass will still need replacing.
In other words, Apple’s 2015 iPhones can’t offer any miracles when it comes to a particular type of drop though they may be more durable than some competitors. So remember to purchase AppleCare and/or protective cases and screens to prevent such damages.
