Video: Microsoft says iPad is awful for work in latest Windows 8 ad

Microsoft has taken a page out of Apple’s playbook recently. With Windows now the underdog operating system in the tablet market as the iPad continues to dominate, Microsoft has been running an advertising campaign that bears a striking resemblance to Apple’s old “I’m a Mac” spots. In this latest addition, Microsoft heads to a college classroom and pits the iPad against Lenovo’s IdeaPad Yoga convertible ultrabook.

A class full of college students sit with their tablets as a lecture is about to begin. All but one have iPads. When it comes time to start taking notes, the students with iPads scramble for their keyboard attachments while the Yoga user simply unfolds her ultrabook and begins typing away. The ad then highlights Windows 8’s multitasking capabilities as the Yoga owner works with two apps open on her display — which the iPad cannot do, of course.
