HTC’s revenue in April 2011 hit a record high, Taiwan Economic News reports. The publication cites a financial statement from HTC in claiming the smartphone maker saw revenue in April grow to NT$38.729. Equivalent to approximately $1.35 billion USD, HTC’s April revenue was up 4.5% sequentially and up over 113% compared to April 2010. Aggregate revenue over the first four months now totals NT$142.885, up 154% over the same period last year. The company said continued strong sales of devices like the Desire HD played a large role in helping HTC achieve the new record, and heavy shipments of newer phones like the Incredible S and Desire S should keep revenue up through the remainder of the quarter. HTC projected second-quarter revenue of NT$120 billion on smartphone shipments of between 11 and 11.5 million units when it reported its first-quarter earnings last month.
