Apple wasn’t the first company in the world to launch a new flagship product on an annual basis, but the company certainly popularized the tradition among smartphone makers. The Cupertino-based company introduces one or more new iPhone models each year, and they go on sale soon after in place of the last year’s phones.
Several other companies have followed Apple’s lead, and now it appears as though HTC may have taken this custom to a level that not even Apple has achieved at this point.
DON’T MISS: Galaxy S6 vs. HTC One M9: The complete specs comparison
HTC unveiled its next-generation flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9, last week during the annual Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain. The phone is a gorgeous and sleek Android handset, though it is clearly a modest upgrade compared to Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, which were redesigned from the ground up.
While HTC revealed plenty of details about the new phone during its press conference, a few key things were left out of the presentation. Specifically, we came away from the event not knowing when the phone will launch or how much it will cost.
Now, a new leak may answer both questions.
According to a page on HTC retail partner B&H’s website, the new HTC One M9 will go on sale on Wednesday, March 25th, and it will start at $649.99 off contract. If all those numbers look familiar, it’s because last year’s HTC One M8 launched on exactly the same date at exactly the same price.
HTC has yet to confirm the information.
