Remember when HTC America president Jason Mackenzie announced last week that the new HTC One M9 will be released on April 10th? Well, that’s not entirely true anymore — but don’t worry, the change in launch plans isn’t due to any sort of delay. Instead, the opposite is the case: HTC announced on Thursday morning that its flagship One M9 smartphone will become available for purchase on HTC’s website beginning tonight at midnight.

April 10th is shaping up to be a very busy day, with Apple Watch preorders set to begin and a couple more launches that we’ll get to a bit later today. In an apparent effort to dodge all that chaos, HTC will begin selling the new HTC One M9 on its website at midnight tonight.
U.S. wireless carriers and HTC’s other retail partners will then begin selling the phone on April 10th.
As for pricing, the HTC One M9 will cost $649 off contract, as we all expected. HTC is offering 12-month interest-free financing on its site so shoppers won’t have to part with all that cash at once.
“The craftsmanship of our new HTC One M9 resembles that of a fine watch. We’ve retained our iconic design but made it even better while not compromising on what is important to our customers,” HTC’s Jason Mackenzie said of the M9.
HTC will offer an unlocked version of the One M9 on its website, and carrier versions will be available for purchase as well. Of note, HTC confirmed that the unlocked model is based on the AT&T SKU and will include support for 850/AWS/1900/2100 MHz 3G UMTS as well as 4G LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 29 and 30.
