Buying a new phone is an exciting event for tech fans, but it comes with a degree of responsibility as well. After all, the last thing anyone wants to do is drop their expensive smartphone on the way to the car, just minutes after paying for it, but HTC understands that accidents happen. That’s why the UH OH Protection plan might be the best on the market.

“UH OH Protection is a free service that comes with the HTC One M9 (and newly purchased HTC One M8) devices,” says HTC CEO Jason Mackenzie. “If at any time during the first 12 months you own your HTC One M9, you crack the screen, suffer water damage or decide to switch carriers, we will replace it for free; and if you make it a year without an UH OH moment, we’ll give you $100 towards the purchase of your next HTC One.”
HTC knows that “bad things happen to good phones,” which is why its protection plan is so lenient. It’s also another way for HTC to get an edge over the competition in a year filled with surprisingly great redesigns in the Android market.
