HTC hasn’t had much luck competing with Apple and Samsung in the high-end smartphone market over the last year, which is why the company is looking to diversify its portfolio of lower-cost devices. GizChina points us to some new pictures posted on ePrice that show HTC’s new HTC Desire midrange handset series that the company seems to be positioning as its answer to the iPhone 5c. Like the iPhone 5c, the new Desire will feature a plastic casing and come in a variety of bright colors. The new device will seemingly have one big advantage over the 5c when it comes to specs, however, as GizChina says that it will likely feature a Mediatek octacore processor that would give the new HTC phone a lot of computing power for a mid-range device.
