3 tips for clearing up space on your iPhone

How to Clear Storage Space

Even with 128GB of internal storage, you’re still probably going to fill up your smartphone or tablet eventually. With all the movies, music, photos and apps you store on your devices, that limit is always creeping closer to impeding your process, but worry not — there is a way out of this nightmare.

USA Today put together a list of three ways that you can clear up some free space on any smart device that you own. None of these are going to be especially revelatory, but it’s never a bad idea to freshen up on the basics.

The first and most obvious option is to start deleting some of the apps that you never touch any more. Of the 50 or so apps on my iPhone, I only regularly use between 10-15 of them. As for the dozens of unused apps, they’ll be the first to go when I finally hit the 64GB limit at some point in the next few months.

USA Today also recommends organizing your photo and video collection. With all the cloud storage services available today, you really don’t have an excuse for filling up your phone with photos. Unload the ones you want to save, delete the ones you took accidentally and sign up for Amazon’s Cloud Drive storage (or something similar).

Last but not least, you can start streaming music and movies rather than downloading them directly to your device. Once again, there are too many music and video streaming services to count, but many of them are free to download, as long as you’re willing to put up with a few ads.

Follow these steps and you’ll have a clean phone in no time.
