If you stick to BGR this holiday season, you can take care of all of your holiday shopping without ever having to leave your house, and you’ll still save a ton of money in the process. Some people will still want to brave the crowds and chaos to see what kinds of deals they can get in stores though, and we won’t hold it against you if that’s the case.

Of course, there are important tools at your disposal if that’s the case, and perhaps none is better than our Black Friday 2015 hub. There are some other things that supplement our hub though, and the latest comes courtesy of Google.

In a recent blog post on the official Google Maps blog, Google announced a new feature that holiday shoppers are going to love this year.

“Ever trekked all the way to your favorite restaurant just to realize it’s closed for the holidays? Well, we have,” Google’s Jonathan Sidi wrote in the blog post. “Now Google Maps and Google Search will help you avoid that common holiday mistake. We’ve added holiday hours to Maps and Search, so when you search for a business and a major holiday is within the next seven days, you’ll see whether the business has a special holiday schedule. Not only will you avoid showing up to find the doors locked, but you’ll save time by not having to call the business or check the website for hours.”

When they’re available, stores’ holiday hours will be marked clearly in Google’s mobile Maps and Search apps, as well as on Google’s websites. And when holiday hours haven’t been made available, Google’s apps and web pages will clearly indicate that’s the case. Most major retailers will be covered though, so Google’s apps will be an invaluable tool this holiday season.
