Maybe this is why Google has been investing so much money in self-driving cars: Because it knows that Google Glass users will endanger themselves and others by wearing their headsets while driving. Phandroid brings us the tale of Cecilia Abade, a California woman who’s part of Google’s Glass Explorer program for early adopters and who was recently given a ticket for driving in a car while wearing her Glass headset. The police officer who pulled her over apparently wrote up the ticket even though there aren’t yet any formal laws against wearing Glass while driving. Phandroid sees this as a grave injustice and says that “Cecilia shouldn’t be subject to ambiguous laws created by the intersection of an ancient legal system and innovative technology.”
