It was only a matter of time. After revealing the redesigned Google Glass on Wednesday, Google reportedly put an official Glass accessory store online, complete with a slew of (you guessed it) overpriced accessories. A group of Glass Explorers on a private forum discovered the store, which currently features the new, optional mono earbud, a micro-fiber carrying pouch and the charger with its cable all for $50 a piece. The clear shield, which turns Google Glass into something resembling an actual pair of glasses, costs $75.
There are five different sections in the accessories store, including one entitled Shades and Shields. On Google’s Support site for Glass, Google says that it has “partnered with Maui Jim and Zeal Optics to include a sunglass shade with every new Glass,” and relays instructions on how to install the shades.
Regular folk do not have access to the accessory store yet, but if you are an Explorer yourself, you can check out the store at this link. A picture of the storefront from Marketing Land can be seen below.
