It’s too late for me, as I have read about the major Game of Thrones Season 6 spoilers many times before, but you may be still safe. If you absolutely want to know what might happen in the upcoming season of HBO’s best TV show in years, keep reading. Otherwise, do your best to avoid the Game of Thrones online chatter that’s filled with speculation about what’s going to happen next, largely based on proof from the sets where crews are filming it.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILERS FOLLOW BELOW.
As iO9 notes, Game of Thrones Season 6 will be the first season of the show to stray from the books, primarily because there’s no book to adapt for this season.
Fans of the series are dying to know whether Jon Snow will be resurrected in Season 6, and, as we already know, Kit Harington is back on the set filming for the upcoming season. And Jon Snow is not wearing clothes that would fit his duties for The Night’s Watch: Instead, he’s expected to return to the north and lead armies from different houses of the North, including wildlings, in a major battle. Ser Davos Seaworth will join him after Stannis’s death, and Sansa Stark will also appear at the battle’s location. Scenes from these battle were filmed in Saintfield, Northern Ireland, where the actors playing these characters have been spotted.

More interestingly, filming at the Castillo de Zafra in Guadalajara sparked speculation that flashback scenes will reveal the actual origin of Jon Snow. The story might explain how Jon Snow is actually the son of Lyanna Stark, who was kidnapped by Targaryen Prince Rhaegar, who kept her in the Tower of Joy. Ned Stark tried to rescue his sister but found her dead next to a newly-born child, whose father is the prince. These events also may have sparked Robert’s Rebellion, which eventually removed the Targaryens from the thrones.
All this information about Jon Snow, whose real origin is still a mystery, might be delivered to the audience via a vision that Bran Stark has near the Castillo castle.

In King’s Landing, the Sparrows are expected to free Margaery Tyrell, who either becomes a faithful believer, or fools them into freeing her. A huge army will try to free Margaery from the High Sparrow by force – lead by King Tommen, Mace Tyrell, and Jaime Lannister – but they will find out that Margaery has been liberated.
Jaime will then move to the Riverlands to deal with the last remnants of Robb Stark’s rebellion. Jaime will be joined by Bronn and Brienne of Tarth at the siege, with Brynden and Edmure Tully supposedly also part of the siege of Riverrun.
Lady Stoneheart, who’s the magically revived vengeful body of Catelyn Stark, also appears in the Riverlands, leading a large army.

Arya Stark might also appear in the Riverlands although there’s not much known about her in the new series.
The Greyjoys will have to pick a new king, and while Theon’s sister Yara might be your favorite, it’s Balon’s brother Euron Greyjoy who wins the crown during a gathering of Ironborn captains. The event is based on the Kingsmoot storyline from the books, and Balon supposedly wins the crown after impressing everyone with a magical horn that can control dragons.
Scenes filmed in Northern Ireland at Ballintoy seem to show this particular storyline for the Greyjoys.
Theon is also supposed to appear in the next season of Game of Thrones, reuniting with his sister after fleeing Winterfell with Sansa Stark in the fifth season.
The mother of dragons is in for new adventures herself. After being apparently captured by Dothraki tribes at the end of last season, she will presumably end up leading a Dothraki army mightier than any force she had at her disposal. Apparently Daenerys convinces many Dothraki Khalasars to join her after walking out of a burning Dothraki temple that’s set on fire by Drogon, one of her dragons.
The mother of dragons has been spotted filming in Spain with extras in Dothraki and Unsullied gear, suggesting she will be taking the vast army to Meereen.
Meanwhile, Meereen is in grave danger. The city is affected by famine, and Tyrion will have to deal with an imminent assault on the town by slavers of Yunkai and Meereen.
