Galaxy S5 Mini Release Date

Samsung fans who prefer a more portable smartphone experience won’t have to wait much longer for the latest miniature flagship. According to SamMobile, Samsung is going to begin selling the Galaxy S5 mini worldwide in mid-July. The speculation from SamMobile’s sources isn’t much of a stretch either — the S4 mini also released in mid-July last year.

Based on recent leaks, we know that the S5 mini will be significantly more formidable than the 2013 model, but this is definitely still a mid-range device. The S5 mini will feature a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1.4GHz Exynos quad-core processor, 450GHz quad-core GPU, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, IR, NFC, GPS and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with TouchWiz UI.

The downgraded S5 will also retain many of the impressive features of the standard model, including a heart rate monitor, fingerprint sensor and IP67 water and dust resistance. Other software additions, such as Ultra Power Saving Mode, Kids Mode and Private Mode will all make their way to the new device as well.
