Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha, one of the phones the company hopes will counter the incoming iPhone 6, is unlikely to offer buyers any more secrets. New reports over the weekend have (again) confirmed the phone’s specs and official product name. Brazilian online publication TecMundo has gotten a hold of the phone’s specs, price and release date for the region, while Russian website hi-tech.mail.ru has spotted the Galaxy Alpha name taking the spotlight in a Samsung Galaxy Alpha Regatta event in Moscow.

According to an image obtained by TecMundo, the Galaxy Alpha will sport a 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution, Exynos octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, no microSD card support, 12-megapixel camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE support, fingerprint sensor, heart rate sensor, nano SIM card, 1,860mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat on board.
A 64GB version of the Galaxy Alpha will also be available in stores later this year.
The phone, which will have some metal in its design, should be launched in Brazil in the second half of September, or first half of October, and will apparently cost R$2,399, or around $1,050.
Samsung is expected to unveil the handset on August 13, but apparently the fact the handset isn’t official did not stop Samsung Russia from starting to promote it in the region already. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha Regatta event was apparently dedicated to the unofficial handset, with plenty of signage clearly featuring the Galaxy Alpha’s name. Even the actual handset may have made an appearance at the event, available images seem to suggest.
