This past week, eVeek announced that its relatively new BlackBerry video platform is now open to the public. The service is a YouTube-like platform where content is user-uploaded and free for all to use. For the time being, it’s available for PC but once all of the kinks are ironed out, it will be fully and quickly optimized for use with BlackBerry devices in terms of format, size, speed, etc. Anyone can watch and download any and all videos available with the service by hitting vids.eveek.com. Streaming / downloading is open to all while users must register in order to be able to upload videos. Registration is free of course so no worries. Additional features of the platform include commenting, ratings, top viewed, most discussed, personal profiles, favorites, bookmarks, categories, sharing and embedding. eVeek is looking for all of the input it can get while the service is in public beta so if you come across a few hiccups don’t head for the hills; shoot them a note and they’ll work fast to address any issues. The quicker content is uploaded, the sooner bugs are addressed and the mobile side of the service is launched.
