It looks like US all of the commotion caused by the Android-powered HTC G1 made HTC completely forget about releasing the company’s sexy Touch HD here in the US. According to an HTC employee who has probably been convinced by a PR firm to “get more involved with the social web”, HTC’s much sought after Touch HD will not be making an official appearance in the US. Via Twitter, HTC has stated that it is too late to begin the process of landing approval to sell the Touch HD in the US and therefore it will simply skip it. Apparently HTC is already working on some other handsets, hopefully rocking Android, that it will grace the US market with and so by the time the Touch HD is ready to go it will be old news. Those of us who were looking forward to that beautiful 480 x 800 pixel WVGA display will either have to buy an import sans-compatible 3G or just do our best to put this beauty out of mind and wait to see what HTC has in store for us moving forward. All we know is it damn well better not be the Opal.
