Don’t buy the Galaxy S5 before you check out these deals

Cheaper Galaxy S5 Deals

The Galaxy S5 is already available for preorder from many carriers in the U.S., and will be available in stores in a few days, but interested buyers should check Target and Best Buy’s new offers that may help them score a cheaper new Samsung flagship handset, especially if they plan to buy the handset on-contract.

Target is currently offering a “guaranteed $100” discount on the Galaxy S5, but the deal has some conditions. First of all, Target will require buyers to ink a new two-year deal with either AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. Secondly, they’ll also have to trade-in (online or in a Target store) a working smartphone in order to get the discount. The company will throw in an additional 5% off when purchases are made using a Target REDcard. The offer is good from April 11 to April 26, and the Galaxy S5 can already be pre-ordered at Target Mobile centers.

Best Buy, meanwhile, has a more interesting offer for users willing to trade-in their devices rather than sell them for cash themselves. The company is offering an up to $300 Best Buy Gift Card to customers that trade-in any working tablet or smartphone. The offer is available in stores only, and from the looks of it, it is only good for customers that sign a new two-year deal with their carrier of choice when buying a new device – “customer must be eligible for a new two-year activation to receive gift card for this promotion,” the fine print reads.

Earlier this year, Best Buy also offered a $50 gift card promotion that can be used for any on-contract smartphone upgrade, including for models that were unannounced at the time. RadioShack has also recently offered $50 off the Galaxy S5.

The Galaxy S5 will cost $199.99 when purchased with new agreements.
