Do you want a quick way to zip files from your iPhone or iPad to your PC that doesn’t involve carrying a Lightning cable around with you everywhere? Then you might want to check out the iStick, a new USB flash storage drive that has both a standard USB connector and an approved Apple Lightning connector as well. The iStick, which is being developed by the Sanho Corporation, has launched a Kickstarter page where so far it’s raised close to $600,000, more than 6 times the $100,000 it had set out to raise and it still has 26 days to go.

One potential advantage of the iStick is that it can help you free up storage on your iPhone and still give you quick access to your files whenever you need them. If you store your music library on your iStick, for instance, you’ll be able to access it just by plugging the storage drive into your iPhone without any syncing. Sanho says that the iStick is even great for getting quick access to movies on your phone because it features “a hardware accelerated video decoder that supports a wide variety of non-iOS native video formats like MP4, M4V, MPV, MOV, MPG, MKV, AVI, WMV, RMVB, FLV, 3GP, GIF.”

The iStick comes in a huge range of storage options, from an 8GB stick that will sell for $129 to a 128GB stick that will sell for $400. Making pledges on the Kickstarter page will get you discounts on different kinds of iSticks depending on how much money you put down.
