If you want to get a sense of just how cool mobile gaming is going to be in the future, then you really need to check out the latest game from Umoove that uses eye-and-face-tracking technology to simulate flying through a mysterious village in the middle of a dessert. Essentially, the new Umoove Experience game lets you control where you’re going in the game through simple gestures and motions with your head, so your character will basically go toward wherever you look.

The game isn’t very deep so far but it instead serves as a template to show how immersive these kinds of motion-controlled games can be — in fact, it’s easy to imagine a studio such as Bethesda using similar technology to make an even more immersive experience in its next Elder Scrolls game. If you’re still not convinced that it’s worth trying out, Umoove has even gotten the endorsement of Robert Scoble, the world’s most famous Google Glass fan who certainly knows a good augmented reality app when he sees it.

The game, which is currently only available on iPhones and iPads, is also free to download so there’s literally no cost to giving it a shot.
