We have shared plenty of sleek and stylish iPhone 6 cases with you over the past few months, but the search continues. After all, you can never have enough options when it comes to protecting your iPhone without ruining its look. So far we’ve given iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users all sorts of different options, from a handful of cases that will protect your iPhone without ruining its look, to an impossibly thin case that’s just $15, to a few great case options that are perfect for people who hate iPhone cases.

Now, we’re back with a very cool new option that packs an incredible feature you won’t find elsewhere: It heals itself from scratches.

DON’T MISS: This simple trick could have a big impact on your iPhone’s battery life

Innerexile is a name you’ve likely never heard before, but it’s also one you won’t soon forget. The company is based in Taiwan, and it makes a handful of different smartphone accessories as well as protective cases for popular smartphones. Among them is the Hydra case, which is a thin plastic case available for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The case itself looks simple enough, and it’s just 7.9mm thick from front to back. It’s available in three colors — translucent black, translucent pink and a completely clear plastic — and it’s firm but flexible so it can withstand bends and drops.

Hydra’s most intriguing feature is a transparent coating that is able to heal itself from light scratches in a matter of seconds.

Since we carry our phones in our pockets with other items or in purses, some light scratching is inevitable. With the Hydra, however, that light scratching is only temporary, as you can see in Innerexile’s video.

I tested the clear version of the Hydra case myself, and I found that it does seem to deliver on its promise — though it takes a bit longer for scratches to heal than you saw in the video above. I dragged fingernails and a wire brush lightly over the back of the case, leaving behind some basic light swirling and scratching. After about a few minutes, I wiped the surface of the case clean and found no traces of abuse left behind.

It’s not clear how the case will stand up to items that can do more damage such as keys. Also of note, I found that the coated clear plastic was a magnet for grease and dirt. The same can be said of most clear plastic cases, however.

Innerexile’s Hydra case ranges from $25 to $29 on Amazon, and you’ll find links to a few different versions of the case below. Unfortunately, the clear model for the iPhone 6 is not currently available.

Innerexile Hydra Self-Healing Case Black for iPhone 6 – $29

Innerexile Hydra Self-Healing Case Pink for iPhone 6 – $25

Innerexile Hydra Self-Healing Case Clear for iPhone 6 Plus – $26.59
