AT&T released its financials for the first quarter this morning and despite just missing Wall Street’s $31.08 billion revenue projection, the company kicked off 2009 with a very solid quarter. Company-wide revenue came in at $30.57 billion and stand outs were certainly wireless and U-Verse performance. AT&T Mobility added 1.2 million net wireless subscribers in Q1 2009, 875,000 of which were postpaid customers — up 24.1 percent YoY. AT&T also activated 1.6 million iPhones in the quarter. Wireless data revenue climbed 38.6 percent to $3.2 billion and operating income margin grew 26 percent YoY. On the wired side of things AT&T added 284,000 net U-Verse TV subscribers, which almost doubles its Q1 2008 growth and brings total subs to 1.3 million. It also reported a 471,000 net increase in wired and wireless broadband subscribers bringing the total to 16.7 million.
