We’re not sure how valuable a High-Definition signal would be on your 7-9″ Eee PC screen, but progress is progress, right? Asus has just released support for two popular HDTV tuners. The newly minted Linux drivers provide plug-and-play compatibility for the My Cinema U300 Mini DVB-T and DMB-TH tuners. The software is pretty new, so there aren’t a lot of in-the-field reports just yet, but early indications point to an issue with H.264 encoding with users reporting trouble getting that format to play back on their devices. Either way, it’s nice to see Asus demonstrating a commitment to continued support and innovation for their UMPC line. If you’re so inclined, the drives can be had right here.
