Yep, it’s time to move that inventory fellas. Before next month rolls around and a new updated model turns the iPhone 3G into yesterday’s news, Apple has taken a step towards clearing out its current inventory by offering to direct ship iPhone 3G orders for free. Presuming you don’t want to wait to hear what Apple has in store next month — from what we’ve heard so far it looks like we may be looking at a very modest update — and making your way over to AT&T’s site requires too many button presses, you can now order direct from the Apple Store and have your shiny new iPhone within days. Pricing is still the same — for now — so this is likely a first step in a series of efforts to make room for iPhone part trois.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
