Apple fans are fiercely loyal but recently they haven’t been at all shy about voicing criticisms of the company, particularly in the realm of software quality. These very vocal gripes are the major reason why Apple is reportedly toning down new features in iOS 9 and is instead focusing on releasing a more stable, consistent OS that will hopefully avoid some of the major issues experienced with iOS 7 and iOS 8.

GigaOM’s Mark Crump, a self-described “frustrated” iPhone user, has put together a list of nine essential fixes that he wants Apple to make with its next major software release later this year. Like a lot of iOS users we’ve heard from lately, Crump thinks Apple has been far too focused on putting out new features for iOS at the expense of platform stability.
So what would Crump like to see fixed the most? Among other things, he says Apple needs to fix several prominent bugs on iOS 8’s default keyboard, to make iOS 8 devices’ displays rotate properly so that they don’t remain upside down even when flipped around, a better notifications system that groups notifications by the time they were received and not by which app they were sent through, and stronger support for cloud storage options.
