On Thursday, Barron’s reported Jefferies analyst James Kisner labeled Apple’s (AAPL) rumored HDTV launch as “imminent” based on his talks with various cable industry sources. AllThingsD’s John Paczkowski isn’t buying the rumor, though. Paczkowski says that Apple has definitely been talking with cable companies about a new product, possibly including TimeWarner Cable, but he doesn’t believe an HDTV is release is “imminent.” He says Apple has “already steered analysts away from the notion that it will have something to say about a TV solution soon” and that if Apple did have an HDTV up its sleeve and ready to ship almost immediately, it would have already alerted “TV programmers about new arrangements, and we haven’t heard anything along those lines.”
