Here’s some good news for anyone who rutinely flies on Alaska Airlines. The company has announced plans to bring wireless internet into their cabins. The service will begin with a pilot program on a single Seattle-based 737, with plans to expand to the rest of the fleet pending the success of the inital trial. The internet service will be provided by a company by the name of Row 44, Inc. Row 44 has a particularly robust back-end which should prove useful on Alaska’s frequent routes through Alaska by way of the Pacific Ocean. No word on how much this will all cost, but we’re guessing it won’t be free. Then again, who can put a price on Wi-Fi at 30 grand in the air.
