AMC made it official last week: Negan is the new boss of Rick and the Alexandria gang, and Negan is the toughest challenge our favorite group of people has ever had to face, which means the Alexandria community can’t just go to war.

We already saw the official trailer for the second episode of season 7, the one where Rick admits that Negan is in charge. If that sounds disturbing, then you should know that the next episode of Walking Dead will bring over exactly what we need to face Negan. Beware, though, spoilers follow.

AMC posted a sneak peek video for episode 702, one that shows us some of the characters that were not lined up in front of Lucille during the premiere. Carol and Morgan were in a different place when Rick and Co. were captured. Carol was in danger, and Morgan was saving her when they met someone.

As you’ll see in the following clip, it turns out that not only is Carol safe, but she and Morgan found a new sanctuary.

In episode 702 we’ll meet the Kingdom community whose leader is King Ezekiel. Morgan explains all that to a baffled Carol in this clip. But ignore all that, and look at their surroundings. The Kingdom looks like a place where people thrive. A place where people do not appear to be afraid. A place that might have the resources that Rick needs to rise against Negan.

Ezekiel and his CGI tiger do not appear in the clip, and we expect this leader to have his quirks as well. But it’s refreshing to see that AMC will introduce the Kingdom so soon, a force that might balance Negan.
