Star Trek fans still trying to make sense of the world after enduring J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek Into Darkness will be happy to be reminded that new journeys into deep space are on the horizon. Star Trek Beyond is set to premiere in theaters in late July, but an all new storyline will arrive on smaller screens soon after. That’s right, a fresh new Star Trek television series is in the works and it could be just what fans have been waiting for.

Now, the show’s first teaser video has been released.

We have good news and bad news. The good news is that the new teaser promises a whole lot of exciting new elements coming in the Star Trek TV series. New crews, new villains, new heroes and new worlds are all slated to hit a living room near you once the new series premieres. The bad news is that production hasn’t even started yet, so the teaser obviously doesn’t include any footage from the upcoming show.

Instead, CBS showed off the new logo for the show after a quick zip through CGI space. Disappointing, perhaps, but production is set to kick off this fall and you can expect plenty more teasers in the coming months before the real trailers start rolling out. In the meantime, you’ll find the full but brief Star Trek teaser video embedded below.

CBS’s new Star Trek TV series is set to debut in January 2017.
