Gaming site pocketgamer.biz published a report that claims Microsoft is starting to contact iPhone developers about porting their games to Windows Phone 7. The catch? There is some cash involved. PocketGamer writes that, “Microsoft is contacting successful iPhone developers, offering them upfront cash to port their games to the new platform.” The website describes Microsoft’s monetary incentive as “substantial,” although they go onto say the sum was, “not enough to tempt the developer in question.” The porting process is sure to be laborious; the native language of Apple’s iOS is based on Objective-C while Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 uses either Silverlight or C#. What do you think of the move?
