Apple’s iOS 9 includes various features that weren’t explained on stage during WWDC 2015 on Monday. One of them concerns the Health app, which Apple updated to help users collect data about their sex lives.

One of my friends asked me whether the app will send you “dude, you really need to get laid” notifications now that it’ll know more details about your sex life, but the fact of the matter is that this particular iOS 9 feature might be more useful than you think.
The Reproductive Health category in the Health app includes six new sub-categories: Basal Body Temperature, Cervical Mucus Quality, Menstruation, Ovulation Test Result, Sexual Activity and Spotting.
In each of them, the user can simply input data manually, and then see it appear on its special screen. The app could be particularly useful for tracking menstruation and helping couples looking to get pregnant.
At the same time, the app can be used to help users prevent unwanted pregnancies by keeping track of the same parameters that can help them plan having a baby and deal with sexually transmitted diseases – the Sexual Activity section lets users jot down whether they used or didn’t use protection for a sexual encounter on top of marking the date when it happened – and other medical conditions that need closer monitoring.
Finally, the app might be useful to certain patients who undergo specific treatment that might affect their sex lives, or who are using medication to help enhance their sex lives.
