The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are Samsung’s best phones to date, and they’re also the company’s most expensive phones to date. In fact, they’re priced even higher than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. If you thought LG’s upcoming flagship device would beat the Galaxy S6 on price, then you might be surprised. At least that’s what a new report from South Korean publication ETNews claims.

The G4 will be officially unveiled on April 28th, though the company has already teased many of its features, with a massive leak revealing the rest, including specs and a boatload of official images. Soon after its unveiling, the phone will be available for purchase in various markets, starting in South Korea where special preorder deals for the handset have already been detailed.
According to SK Telecom, the LG G4 might cost $825 in the region, which is $30 more than the 32GB Galaxy S6 (priced at $795) but $85 less than the 32GB Galaxy S6 edge (priced at $910).
“Prices are yet to be confirmed, but will stay within that range,” an LG official told the publication. “The comparison target is Edge because the best camera, natural leather, etc. are used.”
Obviously, these are local prices for unlocked, unsubsidized G4 and Galaxy S6 models, which means that on-contract prices for the G4 would be more affordable, though not necessarily a better deal in the long term for buyers.
Assuming the prices are accurate, the same pricing might be kept in place for other markets where LG’s top phone of 2015 will be available. However, LG hasn’t yet revealed pricing or release dates for any country, including South Korea.
