Microsoft is working hard on delivering a Windows product that’s more promising than ever. The company already unveiled various exciting features coming to future Windows 10 users, including the Cortana voice assistant, the Project Spartan browser, universal apps, faster updates and even mobile payments. Yet there are even more tricks under the hood left to be uncovered and one of them concerns Microsoft’s digital content stores, which are getting their own major overhaul.

Apparently, Microsoft has decided to place all the digital content you might be interested in purchasing on a Windows 10 device in a single place, including apps, music, movies and TV shows. The move is certainly welcome, as users should be able to find and download the items they’re searching for faster than before.
The unified store experience will be available in the latest builds of Windows 10 Technical Preview to those insiders who have already made the jump, provided they’re located in one of the supported markets.
“Starting [Thursday] (rolling out over the course of the next 24 hours), we’re turning on the Movies & TV page in the Store Beta,” Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc wrote on the Windows blog. “If you are a Windows Insider running the latest build of the Windows 10 Technical Preview – you will now be able to browse and search for videos, rent or purchase movies & TV shows in the Store Beta and play them in the Video Preview app. If you are like me and have already accumulated a massive digital collection in Xbox Video, your collection will appear in the Video Preview app and you can begin watching your favorite previously purchased movies & TV shows from your collection. You will still have access to them on all other Windows devices and your Xbox One.”
“The experience you will see today is unfinished and we have a lot more work to do. For example – you won’t see movie or TV details like cast and crew and you’ll only be able to stream video content right now. But don’t worry – offline download capability will be coming,” he added.
