Comedy nerds have long had a special place in their hearts for under-appreciated TV shows that never quite transitioned into the mainstream, despite being much funnier and smarter than traditional TV offerings. MTV’s The State and Fox’s Arrested Development are two such examples. Also included in the discussion is Mr. Show, a beloved HBO sketch comedy show from Bob Odenkirk and David Cross that originally aired in the late 90s.
Well comedy nerds, it’s time to rejoice.
Don’t Miss: Waze for iPhone just got a brilliant new feature
Deadline is reporting that Netflix recently green-lit a new comedy series from Odenkirk and Cross aptly titled With Bob and David.
“The streaming service has ordered four half-hour episodes and one hourlong “making-of” special from the project, which has just started production,” the report notes. The series, as one would expect, will feature sketch comedy from Odenkirk and Cross along with a revolving cast of peripheral characters.
Clearly, Netflix has proven once again that it has its finger on the pulse of the American public. From its season 4 reboot of Arrested Development to the upcoming Wet Hot American Summer series, being a Netflix subscriber at this point is a no-brainer.
