As we’ve seen in the past, Tesla’s Model S P85D simply gets incredible acceleration and can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in an insane 3.2 seconds. While we’ve already seen the Model S P85D go up against a Lamborghini in the past, StreetCarDrags has posted a new video showing the car going up against a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, one of the world’s top muscle cars that features a 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8 engine with an output of 707 horsepower.

Although the P85D’s twin electric motors have a combined 691 horsepower, that poses absolutely no disadvantage to the Tesla car in its race with the Hellcat. As you’ll see in the video below, the P85D absolutely smokes the Hellcat right from the start and leaves it in the dust.
As if this weren’t impressive enough, StreetCarDrags says that “during the run the Tesla Model S P85D set a new world record (verified by NEDRA) for being the quickest and fastest production electric car in the world running 11.6 @ 114.6 MPH down the 1/4 mile with a very impressive 1.65 60′ time.” The car also apparently went from 0 to 60 in just 3.1 seconds in this race, which is even better than previously reported times.
