The HTC One M8 was easily the most beautiful Android smartphone of the year in 2014. It might not have been the best-selling handset since HTC doesn’t quite have a marketing budget that compares to its massive rivals Samsung and Apple, but the M8 is still one of our favorite phones of all time. Now, it looks like we may finally know when the phone’s sequel — presumably dubbed the HTC One M9 — will be announced.

HTC on Friday sent invitations to the media for a big press conference on March 1st ahead of this year’s annual Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain. It’s the biggest show of the year for the mobile industry, and it looks like we might already know which phone will be 2015’s star.
The invitation to the press conference doesn’t reveal any details about the phone, or any other announcements that might take place. It also includes the peculiar line “utopia in progress,” which tells us nothing— HTC’s marketing and messaging has always been a bit peculiar, so no surprises there.
As for the HTC One M9, which may or may not be unveiled during the event, rumors suggest the phone will feature a 5-inch full HD display (1,080 x 1,920 pixels), Qualcomm’s octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM and Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.
