With Christmas less than two weeks away and Hanukkah set to begin even sooner, it is officially crunch time for people who haven’t yet finished their holiday shopping this year. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are just too crazy for some people, and it’s understandable if you didn’t want to deal with the pressure.
We have shared a few posts in recent weeks that identify some of the best gifts you can get for friends and loved ones this holiday season, and they focused on things like headphones, accessories and wireless speakers. Over the next week or so, however, we’re going to supplement that coverage with a few additional posts that suggest some great last-minute gift ideas.
Up first, we have some awesome iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus cases for you to check out. They’re all great gift options, but only problem with them is that you might not want to give them away.
FROM EARLIER: The most beautiful iPhone 6 cases you’ve never heard of
We don’t typically cover smartphone cases here on BGR, but they do make terrific affordable gifts for friends and loved ones. They’re also an absolute necessity for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners because the phones are so incredibly slippery.
The key, of course, is ensuring that you don’t ruin Apple’s stunning iPhone designs with cheap plastic cases.
In recent months, we’ve covered a few different case options for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. We listed 10 awesome premium iPhone 6 cases in a post back in November — including my favorite, which is a wallet case from Mujjo — and then we highlighted some awesome handmade cases from a company called Alto.
Now, we’re back with some more cases from two different companies that are all worth checking out ahead of the holidays this year.
The first set of cases comes from a company called Burkley, which makes some fantastic leather cases that are available at surprisingly affordable prices.
Burkley has a wide range of wallet-style iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus cases available on its website, and we have tested several of them. Thanks to Burkley’s range of materials and colors, there is something for everyone.
The company offers two main styles for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, a “Walletcase” that folds open like a book and a “Flipcase” that folds down. Both close with a magnetic clasp, and both are available in several different colors of leather, some of which are soft and supple while others are firm and glossy. The Walletcase is also available in a unique cork material.
My personal favorite is the Walletcase in “Antic Camel,” which is a beautiful brown leather that is soft and natural.
Burkley’s cases range from $34.99 to $39.99, making them shockingly affordable for real leather cases that are handmade.

Next up we have Nodus, which is a UK-based company offering a narrower selection that is both beautiful and excellently constructed.
Nodus’ Access Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is a fantastic handmade leather case that provides protection and style. It also uses a unique micro-suction system to hold your device in place, instead of a traditional plastic component that most cases have. The same micro-suction surface is also used to hold the case closed.
The result is a secure fit and the least amount of added bulk possible for a wallet case.
The Access Case is available in two colors — Ebony Black and Chestnut Brown — and there is also a flip version for the iPhone 6 that opens down instead of sideways.
The case costs £49.99 for either the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus, which is just under $79. For a limited time ahead of the holidays, Nodus is offering 20% off a second case when you purchase one at full price.
And finally, it’s worth noting that Nodus also makes a version of the Access Case for Apple’s iPad range, and it’s just as impressive as the iPhone versions.
