Rumors that Apple (AAPL) is working on a streaming radio service to take on the likes of Pandora (P) and Spotify have been swirling for years, but a new discovery in the latest version of iOS suggests the service may finally be nearing launch. Recent reports suggested that Apple plans to launch the service this year but details have been limited and negotiations with music labels have reportedly been difficult. 9to5Mac dug through the latest version of iOS following the recent release of an untethered iOS 6.1 jailbreak, however, and it discovered two radio buttons labeled “buy” that may ultimately lead to a portal where iOS device users can subscribe to Apple’s upcoming streaming radio service. An enlarged image of the two icons follows below.
