Mobile Rules! 08 Winners Announced

This past week, Nokia announced the winners of a fantastic friendly competition aimed at giving developers some good exposure. The annual ‘Mobile Rules!’ awards are the result of an eight-month selection process during which companies enter in a variety of development categories or the business plan category. Headed by Forum Nokia and capped off by a Silicon Valley awards ceremony, Mobile Rues! is a great way for developers to get exposure, recognition and maybe even a little cash to help them along the way. A few category winners include:

Best Mobile Application – Multimedia: MyStrands
MyStrands Social Player – Music player, real-time recommendation engine and social network

Best Business Plan: MedApps Mobile Wireless
Health Monitoring System – Collects, store and reports health-related data from anywhere using a variety of mobile devices

Best Mobile Application – Multiplayer Games: GAMICA
Sumo-Sumo – A highly anticipated connect action / puzzle game

Best Technology Innovation: Tiki’ Labs
Tiki 6 Keys – An innovative input method utilizing only six keys to input all keyboard characters as well as phrases on a mobile device
