Sony is expected to unveil new products at the annual Mobile World Congress trade show on the same day Samsung introduces the highly anticipated Galaxy S5, although it’s not clear what new products that the company will announce. Sony is rumored to have both a flagship smartphone and a tablet in the works, although it’s only the Xperia Z2 handset that appeared in most leaks so far. However, @evleaks has discovered more details about the new tablet as well, which should succeed last year’s Xperia Tablet Z.
According to the leaker, the Xperia Tablet Z2 – or Xperia Z2 tablet as he calls it – will feature a 10.1-inch Triluminos display with 1920 x 1200 resolution, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, microSD support, 8-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 6000mAh battery and Android KitKat under the hood.
The new tablet will be waterproof and will be just 6.4mm thin, @evleaks says, even thinner than its predecessor. The original Xperia Tablet Z was unveiled at MWC 2013, surprising the audience with its ultra thin 6.9mm profile. Images showing the 2014 version of the tablet have not been leaked though.
