It’s no mystery that Nokia is the most progressive handset manufacturer in the world when it comes to interacting with customers and making use of progressive marketing. Nokia’s aggressive blogger relations programs alone are evidence of that. Perhaps these are a few of the many reasons that Symbian owns the largest global smartphone market share by leaps and bounds. In its most recent campaign however, Nokia has gone above and beyond to create a worldwide interactive experience that you have to check out. Four bloggers have been chosen to embark on a trip around the world and as they make their way, each of their individual journeys is chronicled on Nokia’s Nseries website. Each blogger is given a Nokia N82 smartphone equipped with the GPS tracking application, Nokia Sports Tracker. Their paths are tracked for the world to see on the Urbanista Diaries page, as are the photos they capture with the N82’s 5-megapixel xenon flash-backed camera. The first to embark on this great journey is Devin Balentina of The Nokia Guide, who has recently made his way through New York and Texas. Next he is off to the west coast before taking off to Singapore where he will pass the torch to the next Urbanista. Don’t worry though, the bloggers taking part in the Urbanista Diaries aren’t left to have all the fun. For eight weeks, Nokia will be giving away one N82 each week to site visitors. Kudos to Nokia for recognizing that its customers are more than just sales figures.
