AT&T (T) customers are getting a pair of shiny new Windows Phone 8 devices in the form of the Nokia (NOK) Lumia 920 and the HTC (2498) 8X. The nation’s second largest wireless carrier is offering both smartphones starting at $99.99 with a new two-year agreement. Additionally, AT&T is offering customers who purchase the Lumia 920 a free wireless charging plate. The lower-end Lumia 820 smartphone is also available for the even lower price of $49.99.
For Windows Phone fans who aren’t interested in switching to AT&T, Verizon Wireless (VZ) announced on Thursday that pre-orders for the 8X and Lumia 822, a variant of the 820, will begin today as well. HTC’s flagship Windows Phone is being offered with 16GB of internal storage for $199 with a new two-year agreement, while the Lumia 822 can be had for $99. The Lumia 822 will ship by November 13th, as well the black and blue models for the 8X, however the red version will not arrive until November 21st.
