The iPhone’s availability on Verizon Wireless (VZ) and Sprint (S) has done little to erode AT&T’s (T) standing as the carrier of choice for iPhone users. AllThingsD reports on a new survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners showing that iPhones accounted for roughly half of all phones activated on AT&T between June and August this year while Android-based devices accounted for roughly half of all phones activated on Verizon over the same period. In terms of the overall smartphone market, the survey found that Android devices accounted for 48% of all activations between June and August this year, followed by iOS with 29%, basic phones with 17%, BlackBerry with 4% and Windows Phone devices with just 1%.
iPhone is top choice for AT&T customers while Android dominates Verizon
