Images of what is claimed to be an “iPhone 5 engineering sample” were published on Tuesday afternoon, adding support to earlier rumors that Apple is prepping a taller iPhone with a larger display for launch this fall. The anonymously sourced photos published by GottaBeMobile are said to be an engineering sample obtained from a factory in China. The metal sample very closely resembles the look and shape of rumored next-generation iPhone cases that have been photographed and handled on video in recent months. GottaBeMobile says the engineering sample is 120 millimeters tall, whereas Apple’s current iPhone measures 115.2 millimeters in height, and 58.6 millimeters wide just like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
